Driver Privacy & Cookie Policy

Applies To: All drivers and chauffeurs using the Royal Ride platform operated by Royal Technology Inc.

 


 

1. Introduction

Royal Technology Inc. (“Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to protecting the personal data, rights, and dignity of drivers and chauffeurs (“you,” “your,” or “Driver”) who use our rideshare platform. This policy is governed by:

  • Texas Occupations Code Chapter 2402 (Transportation Network Companies)

  • Texas Government Code Chapter 552 (Public Information Act)

  • U.S. Federal Privacy and SEC Cybersecurity Disclosure Standards

  • General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) for international compliance

By using our platform, you agree to the terms below.

 


 

2. Our Role

Royal Technology Inc. operates the technology platform that connects passengers with licensed, insured, and independent drivers. All services are performed by independent contractors or transportation companies with valid business licenses and commercial insurance. We do not employ drivers.

 


 

3. Data We Collect

We collect the following categories of data from drivers:

Make, model, license plate, registration, commercial insurance, inspection

Bank account, routing number, Stripe Connect ID

Criminal records, driving history, sex offender registry (via Checkr, Inc.)

Usage & Location

GPS tracking during trips, ride history, app interactions

Compliance Records

Human trafficking training (§2402.1075), complaints, investigations

Media (Optional)

Photographs or video during official work hours for branding and marketing

 


 

4. How We Use Your Data

Your data may be used to:

  • Verify your eligibility under Texas TNC law

  • Match you with passengers in the system (§2402.001(2))

  • Process payouts and issue tax forms

  • Comply with legal and insurance requirements

  • Monitor performance, safety, and nondiscrimination (§2402.112)

  • Investigate misconduct, fraud, or complaints

  • Respond to valid subpoenas or requests from TDLR (§2402.152(b))

 


 

5. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell or trade driver data. We share your information only when necessary:

6. Location Tracking

We collect real-time GPS data only during trips for the purposes of:

  • Routing and trip optimization

  • Passenger updates

  • Complaint resolution

  • Recordkeeping under §2402.151

Disabling location tracking in your device will affect your ability to receive or complete rides.

 


 

7. Media & Image Use

During your service on the platform, Royal Technology Inc. may capture and use media (photos/videos) of your vehicle or activity for marketing purposes.

To opt out, email: mediaoptout@royalrideapp.com before any content is recorded.

Once posted, media cannot be removed unless the driver reimburses all related production and marketing costs.

 


 

8. Driver Conduct & Liability

You operate independently and are solely responsible for:

  • Your driving, customer service, and business conduct

  • Insurance coverage, vehicle maintenance, and local compliance

  • Any accidents, violations, or claims from passengers or third parties

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Royal Technology Inc. from any legal or financial responsibility related to your actions.

Required Conduct Standards:

  • No drugs or alcohol while active on the platform

  • Professional dress code: Black suit, shirt, tie, and shoes

  • Door service at all stops

  • Zero tolerance for harassment, misconduct, or discrimination

  • Full compliance with Texas TNC laws and local regulations

Violations may result in temporary suspension or permanent deactivation.

 


 

9. Data Security

We implement security controls including:

  • TLS encryption

  • Data encryption at rest

  • Multi-level access controls

  • Compliance with SEC cybersecurity guidance
